Our Story
The concept of creating a nutritious protein source originated from Advance International, Inc.’s founder, Mr. Mazi Ghorbani and his wife Gaby, founder of Pledge to Humanity. Together, they learned the horrific truth that millions of children die from malnutrition every year because they simply can’t get the milk, vitamins, and minerals their young bodies need. Mothers in poor regions can’t produce enough milk themselves and can’t afford to buy it or store it. The lack of clean water makes alternatives like powdered milk dangerous.
With this in mind, Mazi and Gaby set out to discover a nutritious and efficient source of protein and founded Advance International, Inc. In 2014, Advance International and Pledge to Humanity joined forces to develop a highly nutritious ready to eat food packet with sustainable fish protein. This initiative was a dream come true, and the realization of a core part of Advance International's mission.
Combating Malnutrition with a Better RUSF
About 35 grams of protein per day is essential for sustaining human nutrition, and small Ready to Use Supplemental Food (RUSF) packages are a common way to distribute nourishing protein to hungry children. Most current aid products are peanut or soy-based and lack certain essential amino acids, and can also cause allergy issues.

In 2014, Advance International and Pledge to Humanity joined forces to combat Moderate Acute Malnutrition, creating the world's first RUSF packet made with sustainable fish protein. These 100-gram packages were first distributed to children in India suffering from malnutrition. Advance International desires to distribute many more through their PROTEIN-4-KIDS program.
